The urine was discovered while Howard Gordon Baker, 31, 4833 Carters Valley Road, was being administered a field sobriety test by Surgoinsville Police Department Officer Adam Bledsoe.
Baker allegedly admitted to Bledsoe that he “had to pass a drug test (for his employer), but smoked marijuana.”
Around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Bledsoe reportedly observed a red Hyundai Tiburon westbound on 11-W in Surgoinsville near Pizza Plus traveling 76 mph in a 55 mph zone and crossing the fog line twice.
Upon conducting a traffic stop Bledsoe, reportedly observed the driver, Baker, to smell of alcohol.
Bledsoe also allegedly observed a nearly empty alcohol bottle and a baggy containing a small amount of marijuana on the passenger seat.
Baker allegedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests.
He was charged with DUI, falsifying the results of a drug test, simple possession of marijuana and possession of an open alcohol container.
As of Tuesday, he remained held in the Hawkins County Jail with no bond set pending arraignment Wednesday in Sessions court.
