Editor’s note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that the statue in the Ogden High foyer was that of a lion. We apologize for the error.

OGDEN — The teen web series filmed in Ogden last fall spent more than $6.3 million in Utah and created more than 150 local jobs, according to the Utah Film Commission.

Youth & Consequences,” which premiered on YouTube Red on Wednesday, March 7, filmed at several locations in Ogden, including on Historic 25th Street, Union Station and Beus Pond Park. But the film’s primary set is Ogden High School, which was featured prominently in the first trailer for the series and in the first two episodes.

The eight-episode teen comedy/drama focuses on a power struggle at the fictional Central Rochester High School, with YouTube star Anna Akana playing the lead role of popular teen Farrah Cutney.

“People here in Utah, and in Ogden specifically, have been extraordinary to us. You go outside and see the mountains of Utah and you see that sky that never ends,” show executive producer Blair Singer told the Utah Film Commission. “The idea of putting our characters in front of something so expansive seemed like it had a lot of possibilities.”

The Utah Film Commission also released a video, showing a behind-the-scenes look at filming at Ogden High and interviews with the cast about the production.

“Youth & Consequences” opens immediately on location at Ogden High, with students milling about in the parking lot and on the school’s front lawn, while Akana drives along Washington Boulevard. Several scenes take place outside on the school steps, inside the cafeteria, theater and near the large tiger statue in the school.

The Ogden School District received $67,500 for letting the production company film at Ogden High and more filming could occur if the series is a success.

The first two episodes are available for free on YouTube Red, while users must have an account to view the rest of the series. YouTube Red offers a one-month free trial and is $9.99 per month afterward.

The show also stars Marcia Cross (“Desperate Housewives”), Cary Elwes (“Princess Bride”), Sean Grandillo (“The Real O’Neals”) and Kara Royster (“Pretty Little Liars”).
