ROGERSVILLE — On May 23, Cherokee High School presented diplomas to 208 members of the Class of 2020 during a non-traditional “social distancing” graduation ceremony intended to keep down a large congregation and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Unfortunately Times News reporter Jeff Bobo was out of town on that day and was unable to attend the event to take photos, so last week he put out a call on Facebook for Cherokee graduates to submit photos for a Times-News photo gallery.

This collage was created from those submissions. The entire gallery of photo submissions will go online at www.timesnews.net Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

But, last week’s graduation isn’t the last opportunity for the Cherokee Class of 2020 to get together and celebrate the end of their high school careers.

On July 17, Downtown Rogersville will host an outdoor prom for Cherokee High School seniors and juniors utilizing all four corners of Town Square.
