Point guard Daivien Williamson is entering the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report by ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.
Williamson averaged 10.4 points during his sophomore season, when the Bucs went 30-4. He started 14 games and made the SoCon all-tournament team.
His absence would leave a void at the point guard position. Isaiah Tisdale, who started all 34 games last season, graduated. Patrick Good, who has said he’s staying at ETSU, can play the point but flourishes as a shooter. David Sloan transferred from Kansas State, but he might not be eligible for the coming season because of NCAA transfer rules.
Williamson, who is from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, would be the second player to enter the transfer portal since ETSU hired Jason Shay to replace the departed Steve Forbes last week. Bo Hodges previously announced his intentions.
Players who enter the transfer portal may return to their original school.
